about 11 years agoWhy are all caps irritating? I will respect your request but I have never understood this
about 11 years agoBecause capital letters and lower-case letters exist for a reason. In online conversations, all caps are sometimes used to accentuate something, like “it was TENTH time he was late!” – putting an emphasis on “tenth”, similar to making it sound louder or otherwise accentuated in a spoken conversation. All words in upper case = you are “shouting” at the person you are talking to online, and that’s irritating, because nobody likes to be shouted at.
